Each jar is hand-crafted, made from upcycled wine bottles and topped with a luxurious mahogany lid, hand turned to fit each jar.  Packaging is made from paper off. 

Available in 6 different lid designs and green or transparent glass. Perfect for storing items in the kitchen or the bathroom or just as display pieces in the living room.

The Blantyre Jar, one of our first designs, embodies the raison d'etre of our company ethos. Skilled artisans in glass work and wood turning were chanced upon in the underbelly of one of the city's informal marketplaces. One making doorknobs, the other glasses, using indigenous techniques passed down by their forefathers. Their natural aptitude, paired with imaginative design, resulted in the exquisite award winning Blantyre Jar.

Malawi’s artisans have a centuries-old craft tradition using natural resources and generations of indigenous knowledge. Unfortunately these time honored cultural traditions, embedded in craftsmanship, are in danger of being lost and artisans are too often underserved as part of the informal economy.
