In The Walrus Who Sometimes Stands, MoritaMiW imagines a walrus resting in a wide landscape of ice. Most of the time it lies quietly, watching the frozen world drift and change. But every now and then, the walrus rises to its feet, just to see the view from a different height.
Created as part of the moritaMiW collection with Japanese textile maker Kusubashi Mon-Ori, this multi cloth is woven from soft four-layer cotton gauze. The fabric feels light, breathable and comforting against the skin, while the layered weave adds subtle volume and durability.
With its generous 53 × 53 cm size, the cloth adapts easily to daily life. Use it as a large handkerchief, wrap a lunch box, line a basket, or place it on the table as a small cloth. It can also be worn loosely as a neck scarf or folded as a bandana when travelling.
