MORITAMIW
The world of moritaMiW is a place where poetry, dreamy illustration and careful craft come together to transform ordinary objects into small wonders. Founded in 2016 as a collaboration between Japanese artist moritaMiW and master towel-maker Kusubashi Mon‑ori, the brand was born out of a simple desire: “to make people who hold our pieces happy.”
MoritaMiW studied pottery and later turned to poetry-illustration, bringing a whimsical, gentle aesthetic to everything she draws. Her world is populated by animals, plants, little characters and quiet magic.
When this imaginative spirit met Kusubashi Mon-ori — a textile maker with over 90 years of experience in weaves, quality and finishing, and moritaMiW the brand was born. Together they set out to re-imagine everyday items like towels, handkerchiefs, tea towels, jars, ceramics, home accessories, stationery and more.
