Japanese Cotton Scarf | Komainu Playing in the Garden

In this design by moritaMiW, a playful komainu (the lion-dog guardians of shrines) is depicted roaming among garden blossoms. Its posture alert but serene, as if pausing in mischievous contemplation. The imagery is printed on a generous 100 × 103 cm square of soft, woven cotton (Bucking cross), creating a textile that feels light yet wonderfully substantial.

Crafted by Kusubashi Mon-ori in Japan, the fabric is 100% cotton and finished with a tracing-paper band that features a short poem by Morita MiW. Lightweight and beautifully printed, this cloth becomes not only a gift-wrapper, but a sub-bag, table cloth, scarf, or decorative piece.
